Hansel and Gretel walk through the night
Tall dark trees and the moon shining bright
Hansel drops crumbs along the floor
But birds eat them up — now there are no more
Hansel and Gretel don’t know the way
They wander and wander till break of day
A house made of candy shiny and sweet
Chocolate and cake on every street
Run run don’t stay too long
Something here feels very wrong
Hold my hand and don’t let go
Through the woods we’ll find our home
Gretel breaks off a piece with a smile
It tastes so sweet just for a while
Out comes a witch with a grin so wide
Come in little children she calls inside
She feeds them well and locks the door
Planning a feast and wanting more
Hansel sees danger, his heart beats fast
Gretel grows sleepy, her strength won’t last

The witch stirs her pot and laughs with glee
She thinks they’ll never escape, you see
Hansel grabs Gretel and off they run
Out of the house into the sun
They run through the forest fast and free
Away from the witch and her dark decree
Now they are safe and finally home
No witch, no danger, no need to roam
